How Ukrainians created a superfood that won a prestigious award in France

Entrepreneurs from Kharkiv created cheese bites with zero water content and won a prestigious award in France for it. After capturing the Ukrainian market, snEco set its sights on exports.

Brothers Vadym and Pylyp Hryshyn experimented with drying cheese for two years and ruined hundreds of kilograms of product searching for the perfect taste. They managed to create snacks without colorants and preservatives, which are 100% cheese.

A few years later, the snEco-branded product appeared on the shelves of all major Ukrainian supermarket chains. Today the company produces about 100 thousand packs of snacks per month and doubles its revenue every year. Recently, cheese bites created by Ukrainians won an award for innovative product at one of the most prestigious food exhibitions, SIAL Paris, held in France.

In 2024, the company first participated in one of the two largest food exhibitions in the EU – SIAL, which takes place every two years. It showcases the latest products, technologies, and innovations in the food industry.

This year, 7,500 companies from 130 countries took part in the exhibition. Although the exhibition will be held on October 19-24 in Paris, the jury has already determined the winners. snEco received the SIAL Innovations 2024 award in the dairy products category.

"We decided that our product is innovative, so why not try? It was a tough selection. First — description, photos of production and the products. When the circle of participants narrowed down, the jury asked for samples for tasting," — Hryshyn explains.
